Tile Roofing

Defying the tests of time

Clay has been a popular construction material because of its durability and insulation properties. Roof tiles been on the top of the list of clay usage.

Tile roofing has a distinctive appearance and in many regions is practically a part of the landscape. Beside the aesthetic appeal and the long-life expectancy of tile roofs, tile roofs are able to withstand most of what nature throws at it. Tile roofing is a great insulator, reflecting heat in the summer and insulating your house in the winter, keep homes cooler in summer and warmer in winter, and also cuts on your energy bills.

Concrete tiles are also available and come in both smooth face or  granular finishes with a choice of many different sizes and colors. Concrete tiles are commonly used and are a slightly cheaper option than clay tiles while still being a great choice for a new roof.

Although clay tile roofs are more expensive to install than the alternative roofing materials they also last much longer. Depending on the quality, a tile roof may last 50 to 70 years–or even more! That is one investment that can pay off in the long run.
